Every Sunday, the San Mateo County Parks and Rec closes Canada Rd. from Hwy. 92 to Edgewood Rd., along Crystal Springs Reservoir, to motorized vehicles. Here you can enjoy a festive 3.8 miles of flat cycling on a road wide enough to easily accomodate all levels of hikers, rollerskaters, joggers and walkers.
Picnic at the Pulgas Water Temple or at nearby Edgewood Park and Preserve, teach your children the joys of cycling or just be a part of the festive mood that celebrates the absence of cars and trucks and buses.
To get there: Exit Hwy 280 at Edgewood Rd headed east. At this juncture, you can park at the Park 'n Ride lot, hop on your bike and go back under the freeeway the short distance to Canada Rd.
