Blacksmith/World Class Metal & Martial Artist, Pawel Guba, at his studio, Global Metal Art, in Castlebar, Ireland welded my Eagle HiWheel today. Until I can get a cotter pin re-machined (Jim Spillane says he can do it), I had Pawel weld the pedal arm to the wheel axle. Bad call from a purist point of view, but keeping my bike rolling on these harsh Irish roads and often inclement weather has compromised my machine in other ways already. So I because I wanna ride, this is what I had to do. I’ll just grind all this off and probably re-nickle the crank arm next spring…..
