Last Friday, we talked to Jan Vandertuin, the Renaissance Man, who among other things, brought the Pedalers Express and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) movements to America. A results getter who indeed walks his talk, he is now the driving force behind the Eugene, OR based Center for Appropriate Transport (CAT). Listen as Jan tells us about the bee hive of bicycle activity taking place in his massive 8000 square foot facility. Find out how CAT not only services Eugene, but impacts the national bike scene as it also excites and formally educates the youth up his way:

Coming soon: Randy Schlitter, the widely acclaimed manufacturer of both Rans Airplanes and Rans Recumbents will join us on Dec 16. It was his invention of the Sail Bike, featured worldwide by Popular Science in the '70's, that helped to spawn the modern day resurgence in recumbent bicycling. Watch for the link as we will be sure to ask him, among many other things, whatever happened to a bike that easily reached speeds well in excess of 50 mph.
