The famous Busycle a Boston based recycling project (catalyzed by Boston artists Matthew Mazzotta and Heather Clark) that has found 14 happy cyclists joyously pedaling mayors and other city dignitaries around in big cities across the US is looking for someone who can oversee it in the San Francisco Bay Area. A date has already been set (Friday, July 28) for a visit with San Francisco elected officials and that is what we need the person described below for. However, if a qualified person comes forward, we can include our 5 other Bay Area cities (Berkeley, Oakland, Hayward, Palo Alto, and San Jose) for the short demonstration rides to the city halls that the 5th Annual National Mayors' Ride will also be stopping in.
We need someone who can:
-- Get the Busycle to and from each of the staging areas (sadly, a motor vehicle will be needed)
-- Shuttle it from its Palo Alto location or store it in a safe area when it is not in use
-- Make any repairs that are necessary
-- Pilot the Busycle (small learning curve)
The rewards:
-- Miles of smiles
-- Constant attention
-- Press opportunities
-- Tons of fun
What the Busycle still could use:
- A 6x12’ or larger trailer
- A car cover
