Heat Wave – High Spot – Cracks

The skies were blue. It was warm (in the low 60’s). Rare. Especially for a March day in Ireland. Instead of spending it in the saddle, I worked on my wheel. Seems the 1/2 inch high spot I was able to get away with on US roads is a prescription for trouble here. I was able to pull the small bump in my rim down to almost nothing today but six miles of the best Tarmac I could find after my attempted fix led to two cracks in the afflicted area. I spoke to Jim Spillane about this and he suggested I anneal the bad part of the rim. Good thing Pawel has a forge!!
