Now that we finally have a route and the web has become advanced enough for us to effectively market it, what the National Bicycle Greenway is now all about needs clarification:

Incorporated as a nonprofit in 1993, after 21 years of educating the public about its need with National Mayors’ Rides and coast-to-coast scouting missions, the National Bicycle Greenway is now working to get cyclists on to the one transcontinental route they have settled upon. The NBG feels that the more their connection from San Francisco to Washington, DC gets used, the more there will be a demand for the retrofits that will make it  the perfect world bicycle greenway  they have long been calling for!  This as they foresee businesses and communities all over America connecting to it to form the interconnected labyrinth of bicycle Greenways that will, in time, crisscross the Nation from north to south and east to west.
