Tomlinson Hall, the Convention Center of 19th Century Indianapolis, next to City Market

In the plaza to the left of Indianapolis City Market is this arch that esteemed city historian, William Selm, is explaining. From him, we learned that this is the entrance to the old Tomlinson Hall, the convention center of 19th Century Indianapolis. It was built in 1886 and burned down in 1958.

While this is all that is left, below it is the basement that was used as a warehouse. And as William noted, what is presently being toured as a 21st Century catacomb.
