Jersey Bents Joins Group that will Support NBG 2016 Tour

Jersey Bents, a recumbent dealer in Hamilton Square, New Jersey just joined the National Bicycle Greenway sponsor line up for the 2016 season that you can see in the graphic below. The businesses you see here will all travel with me from May to August (here is our schedule) when we do our NBG Day Tours in Davis, Santa Cruz, San Jose, Palo Alto, San Francisco. Oakland, Sacramento and Reno. They will also be with me when I do the research in our east coast NBG Anchor Cities of Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and in all likelihood Washington DC  that will enable us to give them NBG Day Tours in 2017.

In moving forward in this way, are adding a twist to the approach the US Government took at the turn of the last Century. In 1905 they formed the Office of Public Roads (OPR)  to design and build roads to America’s National Parks and National Forests.  When the OPR graded and covered the dirt access that already existed  to these locations with gravel, stone, sand-clay, brick, shells or oil, they encouraged motor travel at a point in history when people saw little use for the car.

By celebrating the 19 NBG Anchor Cities  that hold our route from San Francisco to Washington DC together (see the route at BikeRoute.com) with NBG Day Tours that show cyclists where to ride, eat. sleep, shop and play in them, we are encouraging bicycle travel as a way to reverse engineer the mess cars have made of America. This as we build the National Bicycle Greenway both in consciousness and in form!
